ELECTRICALLY REACHING NEW HEIGHTS
GERKEN relies on modern drive technologies and is continuously expanding the proportion of electrically powered machines in its rental fleet. 70% of our rental machines are already battery-powered and operate without an internal combustion engine. This allows us to offer machines for numerous applications that produce no exhaust emissions during operation.
At our locations across Germany, we charge some of our electric rental machines using electricity generated by our own photovoltaic systems. This covers approximately 25% of our own electricity needs.
Electric and Hybrid Rental Machines
Battery-powered machines offer particular advantages for indoor use: They produce no direct exhaust emissions during operation and operate with significantly reduced noise levels. For applications that require not only indoor operation but also travel over unpaved surfaces or more challenging terrain, our hybrid machines offer a flexible solution. For indoor use, they can be operated on battery power. For outdoor use, a powerful diesel all-wheel-drive system is also available. These machines are equipped with particulate filters.
Modern Vehicle Technology
We also rely on the latest vehicle technology in our low-loader fleet. Nearly 100% of our low-loader vehicles already meet the Euro 6 emissions standard. In addition, we use software-based analyses to evaluate and optimize driving behavior. This allows us to identify potential fuel savings and optimize our driving style accordingly.
